Thank you All

Good afternoon friends and neighbors!

We would like to take a moment to thank everyone for their cooperation with the changes necessary for last week’s market delivery and pickup. Our Growers were fantastic about working with us on the new drop off day/time! Likewise, you, our Customers were awesome about the changes in the pick up day and times with only a few unavoidable exceptions! Once again, we apologize for any inconvenience that may have caused due to the bad weather we suffered in the area on Thursday, but we do appreciate your cooperation given the circumstances! Thank you.

Now on to this week’s market news… Brandy Register of Register Cracker Farm celebrated her birthday last week. We wish you a belated Happy Birthday Brandy!

In other news, Shoebox Herb Gardens has been busy, busy, busy making new Jams for your pleasure. This week’s new offerings include Peach Cobbler Jam (tastes just like real Peach Cobbler!), Blueberry Cherry Pie Jam (tastes just like real Blueberry Cherry Pie!), and Tricia’s new favorite ~ Blueberry Cherry Lemonade Jam! Tricia is hard at work developing even more new tastes for our pleasure this week too! We are looking forward to what new delectable delights she comes up with next. Shoebox Herb Gardens is also offering some different cookie varieties this week as well. What a busy lady she has been!

Simply Seafood has added prepared Crab Cakes and Calamari Salad to their offerings. Yum!

Gaia’s Creamery is now offering Chocolate and Vanilla Ice Creams and Blackberry Frozen Yogurt too! What great summer treats!

Coffey Break Farm is featuring personal Chocolate Cherry Chevre Cheese Pies this week! These are SO GOOD!!!

Summer is the time when many of us eat a lot of tuna salad, potato salad, chicken salad, egg salad, and deviled eggs. When planning your picnic menus this month, don’t forget the eggs for all these delicious salads! Fox Hollow Farm and Register Cracker Farm have got you covered with excellent farm fresh, naturally colored, brown, and green eggs!

Temperatures are rising and the risk of sunburn rises with it. Please be careful and wear your hats and sunscreen when outdoors! Be safe and have fun this summer!

Hurricane Season Begins

Good morning friends and neighbors and Happy Sunday to you all!

As many of you are aware yesterday was the official start of hurricane season here in FL. If you haven’t done so already please keep your families safe by developing a plan of evacuation if needed as well as stores of food and water. Many area grocery stores off literature on what and how much is needed to get thru a week or two of no power or water.

For your fresh food needs in the meantime you may be interested to know that Register Cracker Farm not only has Blueberries, but also peaches! Roxy’s Garden still has delicious colored green beans and white eggplant! 3 Rock Farm is still offering Baby Bock Choi and Endive!

Some of you may have noticed too that Fox Hollow Farm has started offering eggs separated by color. Medium Green Eggs by the dozen are available in limited quantity while you can now choose if you want all Large Brown Eggs or a mix of Naturally Colored Eggs!

Simply Seafood’s offerings have recently changed so please be sure to check and see what’s new and different this week! Knutty 4 Knuts is offering Green Kokonuts SO FULL of coconut water that some of them can’t even shake! Fresh and delicious, organically grown in South Florida.

Florida Fresh Meat Company and Gaia’s Creamery are your source of local fresh, grass fed and organic meats, far more superior than the hormone and grain fed stuff you get at the grocery stores!

Coffee Break Farm started offering their new, delicious Goat Milk Chocolate Fudge with and without Walnuts last week while Gaia’s Creamery is now offering flavored Frozen Yogurt!

SaraFay Farm and Knutty 4 Knuts have your gluten free bread needs covered with a variety of delicious breads available between them!

To conclude, we wish you all a fun, SAFE, and happy Summer! ENJOY!

We are Expanding

Hi
As the headline of this weeks blog states we are expanding. A new pickup point is established. also a great article on vegetable and meats.

NEW PICK POINT: DUNNELLON EAST
Amy and Jay Levinson of 3 Rock Farm, have been growers with CCLG for a while now, they are hosting the new pickup point at their farm in East Dunnellon. Their farm is located in the Highlands just off Hwy. 200 in Marion county. Access to their farm is over made up roads so no risk of getting stuck. This gives a really convenient pick up point serving the Hwy.200 corridor. Thank you Amy and Jay.

So now please share this good news with your family, friends, co-workers and encourage them to actively participate in your On-Line Farmers Market.

A MUST READ ARTICLE
This week our team came across this article from Dr. Mercola, which gives clear guidance on foods to avoid due to chemical “additions”.
